We are planning on giving Brandon a gaming system for Christmas this year, so to minimize fighting, I want to get Lexi something equally cool to play with. I think the new LeapPad would be perfect (and hopefully keep her away from my phone). But the price is a little steep for us, so I am really excited about the giveaway I found on Mommy Mandy today.
Hopefully I will win bc it would save me a lot of much needed energy trying to talk Joe into it.

Okay, i know this video is sideways, but I actually caught Lexi’s first steps on film, so I have to show it anyway. If anyone knows how to rotate this, please share with me!

Lexi’s party was a lot of fun. We had decorate your own cupcakes for the big kids and regular cupcakes for the adults. I made cupcake bites (from Bakerella.com) for party favors and they came out adorable and delicious. Lexi, of course, had a giant cupcake all to herself. Here is the video of her digging in.

Brandon drew a picture of the family all by himself today, which was amazing! It was a part of the scenery we made for a puppet show, so our family also included a one eyed alien. Here is a picture of our family portrait…I see a budding art career!

Brandon’s Christmas Program

Brandon did so good in his Christmas program today! We could hear him over all the other kids. He started to lose interest toward the end, but over all he was very into it. I was waiting for him to smack the kid next to him (you’ll see why), but luckily he was too preoccupied with his own finger. Lexi loved watching the kids sing and was very good.

Side note: I did dress Brandon better than this, but apparantly he got hot and took off his cute sweater and his teachers forgot to put it back on. He is actually wearing the same shirt that he wore in last year’s program, that’s why it looks too small!

I am officially addicted to videoing Lexi! Oh, well! I need to get some video of Brandon too but he always want to run from me…I just have to wait out the phase. Anyway, here is a video of Lexi playing with the cookie cutters. I accidentally taught her how to take her bows and hats off of her head in the process but it was worth it.

Lexi worked on drinking out of her cup for about 10 minutes before she finally gave up. It was really funny watching how her mind worked trying to figure it out. I tried to pick it up and give it to her (I didn’t just sit and laugh at her frustration) but she wouldn’t let me. She has a death grip and is very stubborn. She got Brandon’s spoon out of his yogurt today and was licking the yougurt off and I had to pry it out of her hand. Luckily, Brandon was busy on the playground or he probably would have freaked out. He is not into sharing with Lexi yet.

Lexi finally started to crawl last night…I say finally b/c cousin Mia has been crawling for ages now and I have been (not so) patiently waiting for Lexi to catch up. She turned seven months old last week and is thriving, of course! Here is a video of the big event…sorry it is a little long, but if you have kids you understand, and if you don’t have kids, you probably would have thought this was boring no matter how long it lasted!
